GOSHEN- The large Christmas display at the Jim and Marilyn Page home is special in more ways than one. The family will again collect non-perishable food items, cash and toys to be given to the Friends of the Homeless, in New Philadelphia. A small house, sitting near the display, has an opening for donations and will be emptied each night. Last year was the first year for the collection in which over 450 food items and $50 in cash were received.
The family has worked to improve the display for more than thirty years. New to this year’s display is cutout characters to the SpongeBob collection as well as 300 lights, bringing the total of lights to approximately 7,000. 20 blowmolds were also added. The display is located at the intersection of State Rt. 416 and Goshen Valley Dr. It will be lit from 6-9 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and 6-10 on Friday through Sunday.
