Millard R. Anderson – Does anyone have any info? – KIA/MIA from the Army… — 7 Comments
I am so glad you found the information about Millard (Midge) Anderson. The Anderson family lived next door to us for many years when we lived there too.
HI, Debbie! I did not get an e-mail from you either. I’d love to get the newspaper articles.. If worse comes to worse, you could mail them to me… Please try again! Cindy
THanks for that information. I did not get an e-mail from you about this. I was thinking about sending a letter to Bob Anderson, who lives in Tusky to try to get more Anderson Family info… THANKS!! Cindy Krocker Davis
In part–here is what his nephew wrote about him:
MILLARD R ANDERSON WAS ENLISTED IN THE 1ST INFANTRY, 3 BATTALION, D-COMPANY AT HILL 4-11. HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE ROSTER ON THIS SAID WEB-SIGHT. MY UNCLE “MIDGE” AS HE WAS CALLED WAS KILLED IN ACTION ON MAY 24,1969 BY HOSTILE GROUND FIRE. MIDGE WAS KILLED TRYING TO SAVE ONE OF HIS FELLOW BROTHERS WHO HAD BECOME INJURED BY HOSTILE FIRE.
Did you get my e-mail the other day? It was a letter written by his nephew to a website. He was hoping to find someone who was in his uncle’s company when he died. It does appear he was a hero!
